For the past several years, Media Them (AKA Samuel Campbell) has been gradually shying away from his guitar and focusing his attention towards composing minimalist electronic music. On Free Singing Erased, we find a collection of 18 tracks that highlight some of Sam’s recent electronic explorations, drawing from a 4 album series titled “Free Singing”. Free Singing Erased gathers only the cream of the crop into one cohesive listen. Nearly 80 minutes of sleepy electronic sound-scapes that seem to have been cut with great precession from larger pieces of music into smaller movements that drift and repeat, creating hypnotic musical mantras that take you into a meditative state. Tagging music of this nature is a bit of a difficult task, but it should appeal to fans of Vladislv Delay, Jan Jelinek, Pole and Pansonic. Essential listening for the connoisseur of minimal electronics!
