Profile

Brian Grainger, born 1983 in South Carolina, is a prolific artist with over two-hundred releases spanning several monikers. He is a member of bands such as VCV (with David Tagg), Waterstrider (with Ten and Tracer) and Free Festival (with Brian Ellis), and his work has been issued through several dozen labels, including Install, SSR, Attacknine, Infraction, Benbecula, Awkward Silence, Dead Pilot, U-Cover, Boltfish and his own Milieu Music imprint, among others. When not making music, Brian runs the boutique-labels Install and SSR with designer/collaborator David Tagg. He has contributed original musical scores to the popular computer game Eufloria and “Into The Dragon’s Lair”, an Animal Planet special about crocodiles in an African delta. Brian’s work for Wil-Ru runs the gamut from warped psychedelic pop music to textured, organic dub techno, with a handful of scheduled releases on the horizon. He currently lives in Columbia, South Carolina with his wife and pets.
